British Engineering Services strengthens non-destructive testing services with acquisition of AWL
Warrington-based British Engineering Services, with backing from Inflexion, has made its latest acquisition AWL. Ed Brentnall, Rebecca Smith and Rob Parker of Dow Schofield Watts Transaction Services provided financial due diligence for British Engineering Services for the second time in the past year.
Established in 1987, AWL is a family-run non-destructive testing (NDT) business based in South Shields.
The business will help strengthen BES’ existing NDT offering as it continues to position itself for growth.
Dave Vaughan, managing director of testing and consultancy at BES, said: “This is another fantastic acquisition for our company. The brilliant AWL team have the same passion, drive and enthusiasm we enjoy across the wider British Engineering Services Group. Their people are experts in the world of NDT and will really reinforce the services provided by our existing team.”
Emma Williamson, NDT manager at AWL, said: “We’ve really enjoyed getting know more about the British Engineering Services Group over the last few weeks and we’re looking forward to being part of the team. This is a great move all round and we’re confident it will help ensure a brilliant future for everyone involved.”
