Citation Group makes a key acquisition in the food sector
The Citation Group – the Wilmslow-based support services provider – has strengthened its food hygiene and health and safety consultancy services with the acquisition of SureFoot Solutions.
Dow Schofield Watts’ transaction services team advised The Citation Group on the deal, which is its third key acquisition in the food and hospitality sector.
The Citation Group offers compliance and certification services to over 100,000 businesses across the world, blending personalised service with smart software solutions. Founded in 2006, London-based SureFoot Solutions supports hospitality businesses such as The Real Greek, Creams, Everyman Cinemas, St. Austell, Honest Burgers and Franco Manca.
This latest deal will help The Citation Group to grow its food safety and compliance division as it looks to improve its offering to the food and hospitality industry.
The Citation Group’s CEO Chris Morris commented: “The acquisition of SureFoot Solutions is a great way to build our Group’s scale and strengthen our expert consultancy services. Despite the challenges of the wider business environment, we continue to deliver growth opportunities for our Group.”
DSW Transaction Services provided financial due diligence on the deal, which is the third transaction in the food hygiene sector on which DSW has advised Citation. The DSW team consisted of Rob Parker, Elliot Pledger and Ed Brentnall.
