DSW’s Corporate Finance team in Yorkshire & the North East has advised on the sale of specialist recruiter, The Bridge, to the Morson Group.
The Bridge is a prominent force in UK IT recruitment and has been throughout its 16 years of operation. Based in Leeds, the Bridge has a UK network of excellent clients and a loyal and extensive contractor base.
Based in Manchester, the Morson Group is the UK’s leading technical recruiter and engineering design and project management company with a global presence across all engineering markets including rail, aerospace defence, energy, infrastructure IT and oil & gas. Morson has over 40 offices worldwide.
The Bridge has become a wholly owned subsidiary within the Morson Group, maintaining its brand and contracts whilst joining the Morson family.
Ged Mason, CEO of Morson Group, commented: “We are delighted that the team at The Bridge has joined the Morson Group Family.
“The Bridge, one of “Recruiter magazine’s Hot 10 I.T. Recruiters”, has an extremely strong brand within IT across a broad sector coverage. As such the combined IT offering of Morson and The Bridge means that we are extremely well placed for future growth within the ever changing fast moving technology world.
“A large percentage of the staff at The Bridge have been with the company for many years with a wealth of experience and knowledge sharing similar values and culture with Morson. We look forward to developing our market share and offering to our clients and contractors extended services and coverage as part of the enhanced Morson Group.
“We would like to welcome our Bridge colleagues to the Morson Group Family, and look forward to a prosperous and exciting future together.”
Julian Goddard and Duncan Walker, founders of the Bridge, added: “Our priority has been to find a partner whose values assure continuity for our loyal customers of the Bridge’s unique offering. Equally important to us was to identify a management team who share the same care and respect for the great employees who’ve contributed so much to our success, many of them for the majority of the company’s lifetime.
“Our colleagues are looking forward to working as part of an enlarged Group. The exciting combination of the Bridge and Morson will see an extension of our capability across the wider technical sector and a worldwide presence. With over 14,000 contractors on assignment and an annualised Group turnover in excess of £800 million, the Group will be able to offer a diverse range of services and enhanced coverage to our customers to the highest professional standards.
“In Morson, the Bridge has found the perfect home and we both look forward to working together with Ged and his team on taking our success to a higher level.”
The DSW Corporate Finance team comprised Roger Esler and Paul Herriott working alongside legal advisers, Walker Morris.
Roger Esler commented: “The alignment of culture and vision between Morson and The Bridge has been fundamental to this transaction. We are delighted to see The Bridge join such a successful and progressive group and wish all the team there the very best.”
