Dow Schofield Watts Transaction Services in the Northwest have recently advised Cheshire-based NWF Group plc on their acquisition of Sweetfuels, a fuel distributor.

Oxfordshire-based Sweetfuels’ addition to the NWF network has expanded the business’ geographic coverage of its fuels business with the deal bringing the network on UK depots to 26.

The acquisition is aligned with a strategy of consolidating the currently highly fragmented fuels market, with NWF CEO Richard Whiting remarking that “the industry remains highly fragmented, with many small operators, which provides us with further opportunities to consolidate the market and increase our market share”.

He further adds: “We have a strong platform for continued growth as we leverage the benefits from the further expansion of our growing network”.

“Our pipeline of acquisition prospects remains healthy, and this remains a focus for our development activity”.
