Big disposals dominate Dealmakers list
Some big ticket disposals have dominated the shortlist for the 2006 Dealmakers Awards to be held for the first time at the Manchester International Convention Centre next Wednesday, 18 October. Dealmakers is often dominated by big private equity investments but the emphasis in 2006 is very much on the successful sales of businesses in the region, or by businesses advised by Manchester’s finest.
The winners of the Deal of the Year and Dealmaker of the Year will be voted on by all 800 guests on the night in a special electronic interactive vote.
Deal of the Year shortlist: sale of Caudwell Communications; sale of South Lakeland Caravans; acquisition of Ultraframe by Latium; float of Renovo; sale of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company; purchase of Bargain Booze.
Only Pooler from the previous Dealmaker of the Year winners has made the shortlist for 2006. Instead the, the list is made up of hard headed advisers.
