A North West firm which provides financial modelling services for the public and private sector has joined forces with national advisory firm Dow Schofield Watts as part of its growth plans.
JL Advisory will now change its name to Dow Schofield Watts Business Planning LLP. The business, which is based in Stockport and made up of professionals with a background in ‘big four’ firms, provides budgetary forecasts, financial models and detailed financial reporting services.
It helps investors and corporates to assess the viability of contracts and investments, and predict future performance and returns. It also produces financial projections for companies raising finance or bidding for major contracts, and helps government bodies to examine the case for public investments.
Founded in 2010 by Ellen Little and Rebecca Judson, the firm now serves clients nationwide including the NHS, Manchester Airport Group, Westminster City Council, the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Silent Night Group, Calvin Asset Management, Eric Wright Group and the States of Jersey.
Dow Schofield Watts Business Planning LLP will retain its current base in Stockport but will work closely with Dow Schofield Watts’ existing teams in Daresbury, Leeds and London.
Ellen Little said: “We are really excited to be joining the Dow Schofield Watts team. Rebecca and I have spent the last eight years nurturing JL Advisory, and this is the perfect next step in the firm’s development. The move will allow us to enhance the services we can offer to existing clients, as well as giving us great opportunities to grow our team and expand our client base.”
The latest arrival follows a period of rapid growth at Dow Schofield Watts, including the launch of its London office in June. James Dow, founding partner, said: “Financial modelling is a very specialist skillset but one which businesses, government bodies and investors alike rely on to plan for the future and support their decision making. The JL Advisory team are respected nationally for their work and have built a client base comprising leading public and private sector organisations.
“Their skills will complement our existing corporate finance and advisory services and add further depth to the firm, highlighting Dow Schofield Watts as a natural alternative to the ‘big four’.”
