The Dow Schofield Watts team in Yorkshire & the North East has received no fewer than 10 nominations in this year’s Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards – the highest number in the firm’s history.
Roger Esler and his team are in the running for Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year while Roger himself has been shortlisted for Dealmaker of the Year – a title he won in 2016 – and partner Paul Herriott for Emerging Dealmaker of the Year.
Meanwhile seven deals which the team advised on have been shortlisted in the various Deal of the Year categories. They Include the investment in Helix Tool Company by MRO+ Solutions and Cairngorm Capital Partners and PHD Partners’ investment in Technikraft (both in the sub-£5m category); the BIMBO of Star Brands funded by Mobeus, and Operam Education Group’s acquisitions of Teachers UK and The Education Specialists following investment from BGF (£5m – £25m); and the £60m investment in AFI-Uplift and simultaneous acquisition of Facelift (GB) by Pricoa Private Capital and exit by Rutland Partners (£25m and over and Exit of the Year).
The Transaction Services team advised on BGF’s investment in Red Industries and acquisition of Environmental Resource Group (National/International Deal of the Year).
James Dow, co-founder of Dow Schofield Watts, commented: “To receive one nomination for these awards is an achievement but ten is remarkable and I believe is the highest number of nominations that the firm has ever received in any deals awards. It is a credit to Roger, Paul and Sophie and their teams and reflects their very high standing in the Yorkshire & North East market.”
The awards, which celebrate the success of the region’s pre-eminent advisers, will be presented at a black tie dinner on 21 November at New Dock Hall, Leeds.
