Tony Meakin

Following a degree MEng in Engineering, Economics and Management at Hertford College, Oxford, Tony then qualified as a Chartered Accountant under ICAS in 2006 with first time passes.

Prior to joining Dow Schofield Watts in 2007, Tony spent 4 years at Ernst & Young in both Liverpool and Manchester, working both in audit and as part of the forensic team. Key clients worked with included BNFL, Leyland Trucks and Ciba Chemicals.

Over the last nine years Tony has gained extensive financial modelling skills and his contribution has been invaluable to a number of high profile transactions including the £112m sale of Multisol to Brenntag and £78.3m MBO of Ideal World (funded by Inflexion Private Equity). Tony also worked on the original £20m MBO of Character World to RJD Partners in 2008, and the secondary MBO (£36m) of Character World to Palatine Private Equity in 2014. Tony had a significant role in the £33m refinancing of RSK Group Plc in 2015 through unitranche provider Permira.

Tony is a Director of PHD Equity Partners working with our investors and looking for investment opportunities in SMEs.
