Midlands corporate finance team strengthened following period of growth

Dow Schofield Watts’ corporate finance team in the Midlands has made two key team announcements following a period of rapid growth and dealmaking success.

Matilda Parker-Allotey has joined the team as an associate director, bringing international experience and deep financial expertise. She previously held senior roles at the Bank of Ghana, EY and PwC. A CFA charter holder, she holds an MSc in Finance from Coventry University and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Ghana.

Ishan Sharda has been promoted to corporate finance manager, joining the team in June 2024 as a corporate finance executive. A qualified ACCA chartered certified Accountant, Ishan began his career at Grant Thornton and later worked at Azets.

Both Matilda and Ishan are part of the client-facing M&A advisory team, supporting partners in providing expert corporate finance advice to mid-market businesses and their owners.

The appointments come during a strong period for the Midlands team, which has grown from three to 11 people in just 18 months. The team moved into new offices in September 2024 to accommodate its expansion and has advised on nine deals in the last 10 months, including seven since October 2024.

Recent highlights include advising on the sale of The Warmfront Team to Leon Capital, the sale of Golf Holidays Direct to Sports Tours International, and this month’s acquisition of Carron Bathrooms by Brand K Group. This marked Brand K’s ninth acquisition, further strengthening its position in the UK and European bathroom and radiator markets.

Harry Walker, partner at Dow Schofield Watts, said: “Matilda is a fantastic addition to the team and joins at an exciting time in our growth journey. Her experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to support ambitious businesses and further strengthen our position in the Midlands market. Ishan’s promotion is a testament to his hard work and the impact he’s made since joining – he’s hit the ground running, playing important roles in several of our recent client successes”.

The Dow Schofield Watts team’s growing momentum has also been recognised with nominations in four categories at the 2025 East Midlands Dealmakers Awards, including Team of the Year, Dealmaker of the Year (Harry Walker), Emerging Dealmaker of the Year (Fahim Kassam) and Deal of the Year.
