Foresight Group invests in contemporary café group Federal Café & Bar

Foresight Group recently announced its £3.0 million investment in Federal Café (“The UK’s number 1 Coffee Shop”).

Founded in 2014 by Claudio Ribeiro, Federal Holdings offers high-quality food in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. It operates three sites in Manchester and one in Leeds, which opened in December 2025, creating 15 jobs.

Foresight has appointed Karen Jones as Chairperson to support the management team, bringing extensive hospitality experience from her executive and non-executive roles at Café Rouge, Frontier Pubs, Hawksmoor, Deliveroo, Whitbread, and Mowgli.

Will Baxter and Payam Keyghobadi of Dow Schofield Watts Hospitality & Leisure acted for the founder of Federal Cafe.

Claudio Ribeiro, Founder and CEO at Federal, commented: “This investment marks a significant milestone for Federal. With Foresight’s backing, we can accelerate our regional expansion and bring our unique brunch experience to more communities. We’re proud of what we’ve built and excited about the opportunities ahead”.

Payam Keyghobadi, Partner at Dow Schofield Watts, added: “A truly outstanding business has partnered with a proven sector investor and Chair in Foresight and Karen Jones. This is a transaction that Will and I are very proud of. Congratulations to all involved”.
