Brand K Group acquires Utopia Furniture Ltd

Dow Schofield Watts has provided corporate finance advice to Brand K Group on its acquisition of Utopia Furniture Ltd, a leading British bathroom furniture manufacturer based in Wolverhampton.

The deal marks Brand K Group’s tenth UK acquisition and adds another established British manufacturer to its growing portfolio of bathroom and radiator brands. Harry Walker, Partner in Dow Schofield Watts’ Midlands corporate finance team, advised Brand K Group on the transaction, having supported the group on nine previous deals.

Utopia Furniture has been manufacturing bathroom furniture for more than 35 years. It hand-builds its products to order at its Wolverhampton manufacturing facility and supplies them to a nationwide network of more than 600 independent bathroom showrooms. The company also supplies leading housebuilders through its contracts division.

The acquisition brings Utopia’s established manufacturing capabilities, skilled workforce and retailer network into Brand K Group’s wider portfolio. Both businesses share a focus on British manufacturing, quality and responsible growth.

Expanding Brand K Group’s KBB portfolio

Alex Norford established Brand K Group in 2008, and it is headquartered in Bedford, with operations across the UK and internationally. The group employs more than 850 people and generates turnover of more than £180m.

Kartell UK was the group’s first company and remains its largest, distributing radiators and bathroom fixtures and fittings under the K-RAD and K-VIT brands. Since 2019, Brand K Group has acquired UK manufacturers including Just Trays, Vogue UK, MX Group, Paladin Radiators and Carron Bathrooms.
