DSW advises on British Engineering Services’ (BES) acquisition of specialist engineering inspection consultancy, XEIAD
XEIAD Limited – a leading UK specialist in electrical testing, compliance and remedial works – has been acquired by British Engineering Services (BES).
The acquisition marks the eighth made by British Engineering Services since 2019 and the latest that DSW has provided buy-side advisory services on, following on from the acquisition of Lantei in December 2020.
With bases nationwide, the XEIAD team is made up of more than 200 people, working across a number of sectors including transportation, utilities, renewables, inspecting structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels and shafts. Its engineers are skilled and experienced in rope access, diving and confined spaces and complete a huge range of inspections, assessments, surveys, non-destructive testing & intrusive investigations, design and project management. XEIAD is a great fit for BES, enhancing its industry-leading suite of risk management services and growing its already substantial team of specialists.
Paul Hirst, Chief Operating Officer of BES, commented:
“As we continue to add new businesses to the BES Group, our priorities remain the same. We’re focused on welcoming companies that support our risk management agenda, enhance the services we can offer our customers and, most importantly, mirror our people focused culture. XEIAD fits this approach perfectly, their team are the very best at what they do, and we’re excited to get to know them over the coming months.”
Paul Capener, Managing Director of XEIAD, added:
“It’s been very obvious that XEIAD and the BES Group share the same behaviours and culture in the approach to their team and customers since we started talking several months ago. This is extremely important to both companies and has helped make the decision to join the Group an easy one. For us all here at XEIAD, joining such a fantastic business will support our ongoing growth and allow us to offer our customers even more critical asset and risk management services. This is great news all round!”
BES was advised by Gregg Pendlington and Ross Thomas of Dow Schofield Watts Corporate Finance.
