DSW Transaction Services launches along South Coast with appointment of Alex Milne

We are excited to announce that, as part of our unique licensee model, we have expanded our transaction services offering into Southampton, with Alex Milne setting up along the South Coast.

Based in Southampton, Alex joins from RSM UK, where he spent almost 18 years, including more than five years as a Transaction Services Partner. He brings extensive deal experience having advised private equity-backed businesses and corporates on both the buy-side and sell-side.

Alex brings particular expertise in the trade shows, events and media sectors, having advised on more than 50 transactions across these markets. Alongside this specialist experience, he has also worked extensively with clients across a range of other sectors, giving him both deep sector insight and a wider commercial perspective.

In his new role, he will continue to support clients through pivotal transactions while helping to strengthen DSW’s presence across the South Coast and support the region’s dealmaking community.

Alex joins a growing national network of 27 DSW licensees across the UK, reflecting the continued success of the firm’s distinctive business model. Designed for ambitious and entrepreneurial professionals, the model provides people the opportunity to build and lead their own practice while benefiting from the collaborative support of a wider national group.

Alex Milne, Partner at DSW, said, “Having spent my career in a larger firm, DSW’s approach felt refreshingly different. It gives me the opportunity to build something of my own, with real independence and autonomy, while still being part of a wider national advisory group with the support and infrastructure behind it. That means I can focus on what matters most: building trusted client relationships and delivering high-quality, senior-led advice at critical points in their journey.

I’m incredibly excited to be launching a transaction services practice of my own with Dow Schofield Watts. The South Coast is a market I know well and care deeply about, with a strong community of business owners, advisers and dealmakers. At the same time, I’m equally passionate about continuing to support clients in the events and media sector, where I’ve been fortunate to work on many successful transactions over the years. Bringing those two strands together felt like a very natural next step.

Shru Morris, CEO of DSW Capital, added, “Alex is a fantastic addition to DSW, strengthening our presence on the South Coast and bringing extensive transaction services experience. He has built an outstanding reputation in the region, while also developing deep expertise in the trade shows, events and media sectors. That combination of strong local relationships, specialist sector insight and broad deal experience will be a real asset to our clients and to the wider business.

This is another example of how our model continues to attract high-calibre professionals who are looking for greater autonomy while remaining part of a collaborative and ambitious national business. Alex’s expertise and entrepreneurial mindset make him an excellent fit for DSW, and we’re excited to support him as he continues to build his practice.”
