APEM Group drive further expansion into Australia
APEM Group, the environmental consultancy backed by private equity firm WestBridge, reinforces its Australian presence by acquiring Attexo, an advisory and environmental consultancy service provider in the renewables sector.
Dow Schofield Watts has again provided corporate finance advice to APEM only a few months after assisting them with their first Australian acquisition (Biosis), which completed in June.
This latest deal for the Stockport-based APEM is their third acquisition in the last 12 months and their second in Australia, which now totals 215 experts across 11 offices in Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales.
Peter Barkley, partner at WestBridge, said: “With eight strategic acquisitions under their belt, it’s no surprise that APEM has grown so phenomenally and is on track to become the world’s leading environmental consultancy.
The Australian government’s commitment to developing renewable energy, coupled with the team’s dedication to helping the world move towards Net Zero, sets the stage for an ambitious and exciting future organic trajectory for APEM Group across all geographies”.
Gregg Pendlington and Ross Thomas of Dow Schofield Watts’ Northwest Corporate Finance team advised APEM Group.
Gregg Pendlington, partner at DSW, said: “We are delighted to have worked with the APEM and WestBridge teams again in completing this latest acquisition. It’s the eighth acquisition we’ve advised them on since 2021, contributing to a growth story that we’re particularly proud of. Working with our Australian M&A members Aequo Partners again (as we did on Biosis) was not only very productive and efficient but also a pleasure”.
