Dow Schofield Watts boosts North West presence with Manchester office expansion
We are pleased to announce we have expanded our presence in Manchester with a permanent office in the heart of the city centre.
The move builds on the firm’s existing presence through DSW Ventures, its early-stage venture capital arm, which was first established in 2018 as a response to the city’s growing technology ecosystem. DSW Ventures operates from Cubo Spinningfields.
Now, with a larger office within Cubo, the new space will provide additional capacity for the DSW Ventures team, having recently appointed two new people to its investment team. It will also provide space for other businesses within the DSW group to serve their growing client base.
As a growing business advisory platform covering deal advisory, tax, business recovery, investment and legal, the expanded office will provide the wider DSW team with the space needed to best meet client needs and empower entrepreneurs, all from one of the UK’s biggest economic hubs.
The new office will also further expand DSW’s presence and commitment to the North West, providing a full-service offering from the city centre, allowing for greater collaboration across the group. It builds on the group’s existing headquarters based in Daresbury, Cheshire.
This comes just a few weeks after DSW Ventures opened a new office in Birmingham as a direct response to the region’s rapidly expanding technology ecosystem. It now means the group has offices across London and the South East, the Midlands, North West, North East and Wales and the South West, allowing the team to enable owner managers in the UK and beyond to create, protect and realise value.
Shru Morris, CEO, said: “Founded in the North West, our commitment to the region has remained unchanged even as our nationwide expansion continues. With the expansion of our Manchester office, we’re creating a permanent base for both DSW Ventures and the wider group, reinforcing our presence in the markets that matter most to our clients and ambitious entrepreneurs.
As our firm continues to grow, we’re empowering talented advisory professionals to establish their own practices within a structured and supportive environment. This approach fosters learning, collaboration and personal growth, ensuring we remain agile and responsive to the evolving needs of our clients in one of the UK’s most dynamic cities”.
Keith Benson, co-founder of DSW Ventures, added: “Having operated in Manchester for the last four years, we’ve continued to grow our team while supporting a growing number of innovative businesses. The expansion of our office at Cubo is a reflection of this growth and our commitment to one of the UK’s fastest growing regional economies. It will also offer us the chance to better collaborate with other businesses within the DSW platform, providing a larger space for us to work together to best support both our portfolio companies, and the development and progression of our people”.
