Viewpoint Videos secures Imbiba investment to support next phase of growth

Viewpoint Videos, a leading provider of wearable video capture technology for visitor attractions, driving experiences, and adventure sports, has secured growth capital investment from Imbiba in a transaction advised by Dow Schofield Watts Corporate Finance Leeds.

The investment will support Viewpoint Videos’ next phase of growth, enabling the business to broaden its offering, strengthen its product and operations, and accelerate international expansion.

Founded by David Humpston, Viewpoint Videos provides an all-in-one video capture system used by visitor attractions, activity centres, driving experiences and adventure sports operators. Its technology uses custom-made action cameras, with footage instantly processed and delivered to guests digitally, helping operators improve the customer experience while increasing ancillary revenue.

The business has sold more than one million guest videos and supports more than 200 activity centres and attractions worldwide, with customers including TeamSport and Zip World.

Imbiba is a specialist investor in the leisure, education, healthcare and technology sectors. Its investment will help Viewpoint Videos expand into new adventure and leisure verticals, while building a stronger global presence, including further growth in North America.

Dow Schofield Watts Corporate Finance advised Viewpoint Videos on the transaction, with the Yorkshire & North East team supporting the business with corporate finance advice through the investment process.

The DSW team comprised Paul Herriott and Mike Barker from the Yorkshire and North East corporate finance team.

The company was also advised by Clarion Solicitors with Tax advice provided by Tax Advisory Partnership, led by Russ Cahill.

Imbiba was advised by RW Blears on legal matters, HaysMac on financial due diligence and tax, and CloudOrigin on technical due diligence.

David Humpston, Founder and CEO of Viewpoint Videos, said, “We’ve spent over a decade building a system that operators trust and guests genuinely love using. This investment from Imbiba gives us the resources to expand into new verticals and build a stronger presence globally, whilst continually improving the experience for our existing operators and customers.

We’re looking forward to bringing Viewpoint to many more guests around the world.”

Lizzie Ryan-Podbury, Managing Partner at Imbiba, added, “Viewpoint Videos has a super strong product, a loyal customer base and a founder who has built something genuinely category-defining. David and the team have created real momentum, and we’re excited to support the next stage of growth as Viewpoint expands into new verticals and establishes a stronger global footprint.”

Paul Herriot, Partner at Dow Schofield Watts, commented: “Viewpoint Videos is a highly innovative business with a strong product, an impressive customer base and significant growth potential across the visitor attraction, leisure and adventure sports markets.

We are delighted to have advised David and the Viewpoint Videos team on securing investment from Imbiba, whose sector experience and growth-focused approach make them an excellent partner for the next stage of the company’s development.
