Double promotion for DSW Corporate Finance team in Cardiff

We are pleased to announce two well-deserved promotions within our Dow Schofield Watts Corporate Finance team in Cardiff: Benjamin Nix to Senior Associate and Joshua Morris to Senior Analyst.

The promotions recognise Ben and Josh’s continued development and contribution to the team as we continue to grow our presence across Wales and the South West.

Since establishing our Cardiff office, we’ve built a close-knit and ambitious team, giving our people the opportunity to develop their careers while working on a wide range of high-profile transactions. Recent deals include the international MBO of Leading Edge Group, investment in Bay Productions by Kingsford, Euro Commercials’ acquisition of CWC Group and the sale of Hazrem Environmental to Biffa.

Benjamin Nix promoted to Senior Associate

Ben joined DSW in September 2024 and has quickly become an integral member of the Cardiff team.

His promotion from Associate to Senior Associate reflects the increasingly leading role he is taking on in transactions. Ben has built strong relationships with clients and professional advisers, taken greater ownership of deal processes and played a key role in successfully delivering transactions for our clients.

Alongside his deal work, Ben is also working towards his ACA qualification.

Joshua Morris promoted to Senior Analyst

Josh has been promoted from Analyst to Senior Analyst following almost two years with DSW.

During that time, he has continued to develop his technical and commercial expertise while taking on greater responsibility across the team’s transactions. His promotion also follows the recent completion of his ACCA chartered accountancy qualification.

Josh joined DSW with an entrepreneurial background. While studying at the University of Exeter, he co-founded a neurotechnology company developing AI-based technology to monitor head impacts and their relationship with cognitive acuity, which earned him a place on Business Insider’s 42 Under 42 list.

Continuing to grow our team in Cardiff

On the promotions, Koo Aseeley, partner at DSW, said, “Both Ben and Josh have made vital contributions to the continued growth of our Cardiff team, and these promotions are thoroughly deserved. Ben has developed into a trusted adviser to our clients, taking an increasingly leading role in transactions, while Josh has made impressive progress both technically and commercially, bringing energy and perspective to the team. It’s been hugely rewarding to see them develop, and I look forward to seeing them continue to progress as we build the business.”

This is all about ensuring we have the best expertise to support mid-market businesses across the region, continuing to develop a team with a wide range of experience and cross-sector knowledge. We’ve already had a busy year, and are primed to support more owner-managers through a variety of deals during the coming years.”
